A Place to Getaway

Sanctuary Hills is a safe place where pastors, couples, men or women, mothers and daughters, and fathers and sons can come to invest in themselves and the relationships that are most important to them.

The Story

There are times when you need something different-something that provides protection while offering hope in a peaceful setting. Hidden in a hollow, Sanctuary Hills is a safe place where pastors, couples, men or women, mothers and daughters, and fathers and sons can come to invest in themselves and the relationships that are most important to them.

Beautiful rolling hills scattered across the East Tennessee terrain offer fantastic views of the Smoky Mountains with a vibrant sun rise and sun set. A Century Farm of The Busler Family, these beautiful hills produced a harvest of vegetables and grain year after year while also providing pastures for grazing cattle. As farm life began to change for Gary Busler, he started to dream of the farm one day becoming a Christian Retreat Property.

Many months later, little did he know that the Boggs Family would be trekking through his property with a dream in their heart, feeling called to do exactly that. Plans and preparations quickly unfolded to eventually host many people in need of refuge and renewal. Life and growth would still take place on those hills. It would be different than before, but needed all the same. Keith and Nichole Boggs look forward to offering hope and help for others, as they have received, for years to come.

The Progress

The Boggs moved into the Lodge a few days before Christmas.

The Lodge is about 90 percent complete with a projection of being fully complete in the next few months as we work on it little by little each week.

Brave Bear has been up and running since the summer and has hosted many couples and several small families.

The remaining three cottages have their bottom floor dried in and we will prayerfully complete those as the Lord provides. We are praying for completion by the fall of 2023.

An added blessing that wasn’t planned for was a 30 x 40 Barn/Chapel! A beautiful structure that will be used for small events such as Date Nights and Family Worship.

There is still much to do, but as we wait for provision we have already started using the property to minister and love on those God is sending us.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support! They are making a difference and we couldn’t do this without you.

We are praying for a revival in the family and church and we believe God can and will use Sanctuary Hills!

Retreats

Come Study & Stay with Us at Sanctuary Hills

There are times when you need something different-something that provides protection while offering hope in a peaceful setting. Hidden in a hollow, Sanctuary Hills is a safe place where pastors can come to invest in themselves and the relationships that are most important to them.

Come and hide away in Brave Bear Cottage at Sanctuary Hills for 5 days and 4 nights to seek God. This retreat allows time and space for the minister to draw near to God. These days could prove to be transformational in advancing the Kingdom!

Whether you come to rest and reflect, pray and fast, or study and prepare for the next series messages, this is your retreat!

Come & Stay with Us

COME and stay in the beautiful hills of East Tennessee at the Brave Bear Cottage and SEE all that God has done and is doing at Sanctuary Hills! We’ve created this fundraising opportunity to help us share with others where we are and what we need to accomplish so that this vision continues to become a reality.

We are in need of volunteers and funding to complete the development of three Cottages- Shepherd’s Hope, Cedar Haven, and Raven’s Rest. The funds received for these Come & See Weekends will go toward finishing the construction so that we can fully launch our retreat ministry at Sanctuary Hills!

During your stay at Brave Bear, you will experience refreshing views from the living and dining room as it looks out at the Smoky Mountains. If you have need, there is also has a fully functioning kitchen and laundry room. The bedroom and bathroom will accommodate your needs for rest and refreshment.

Keith & Nichole would love to share the vision for the retreat opportunities at Sanctuary Hills over coffee and dessert! Let us know if you would like to schedule an appointment while you are visiting as we would be honored to have our guests hear the updates as well as the needs for the ministry.
